Kong Dog Toys

Kong dog toys are probably some of the best-known in the world, excellent for offering mental and physical stimulation to your dog while helping to clean his teeth and massages his gums.

Kong dog toys were invented by Joe Markham in the 1970s. These dog toys are tough, durable and a tremendous way to keep your dog occupied both in the house and when you are both out and about.

To begin with, Joe Markham sold most of his dog toys to Australia, Israel, Japan, and Great Britain, but the Kong soon began acquiring popularity in America in the1980s, and have remained one of the most popular dog toys ever since.

The original Kong dog toys are made from natural rubber and are recommended by vets and animal behaviourists all over the world.

Many of the toys are color coded to make it easy to choose which one is best suited to your dog. There are 4 rubber types; red for average chewers, pink or blue for puppies, purple for older dogs, and black for strong chewers

The centre of the toy is hollow and designed to be filled with any kind of dog treat as a healthy way to keep your dog occupied.

Some of the Kong dog toys are made in a bee-hive shape. This encourages the toy to bounce in all directions keeping your dog absorbed and on the hunt for the treats inside for hours.

The toys will stand up to hours of punishment especially the larger type that are specifically made for the heavier more robust dog.

The red Kong toys are strong, but the black Kong dog toys are stronger still and perfect for the bigger dog with stronger jaws.

A Kong dog toy stuffed with treats is the perfect alternative to a rawhide chew and will keep your dog busy and discourage destructive chewing of shoes and the furniture.

The Kong dog toy can be stuffed with all sorts of treats, even softer food that may be frozen to make a doggy ice lolly. Kong dog toys are dishwasher friendly so it's easy to clean them if you can manage to steal them back once your dog is asleep.

The Kong Company has also created the Kong Rubber Flyer, a soft flexible Original Kong rubber flying disc. This will provide exercise for you and your dog. It has an accurate flight, and is easily thrown long distances. It's also extremely flexible, so you can roll it up and put it in your pocket, and it's easy for your dog to pick up. Also, it's a soft catch, so it won't hurt your dog's gums as he catches it in mid air.

Kong dog toys' strength, quality and performance are legendary and we believe every dog should have one.
